Default Raven's Art Stuff

I like the idea of Thistle to include all forms of art that she does. So I am adopting the same thing here. I'll update this post to a more pretty version later. Hopefully.

I haven't been drawing all the time though I doodled a lot since I was a kid. I also wrote stories, made music videos and banners/graphic design. I just recently went back to drawing last year. I still write but the video making has been suspended for now. My main focus is art at the moment.

Writings

A got a ton more but I'll just post one that would not raise a ton of questions on the how/why/when and where. Because it's a really long story.

The Northern Wall - A Journey Begins (In Progress)
Tells a story of how my three main characters Mina, Ran and Dani met. Guild Wars Prophecies will always be special to me and the first Post Searing mission - Defend the Northern Wall - is simply unforgettable. So it has become the foundation of their tale.

I played Guild Wars without the intention of RPing really (I was more active in PvP) until I stumbled upon an RP guild and gave it a try. Hadn't looked back since. So yeah I am stuck at rank 3 and a deer emote lol *so wanted the wolf*

Banners/Graphic stuff

Well, I've always been the designated guild banner maker lol. Our guild banner design has evolved over the years. I am just linking a couple because I am too lazy to look up stuff atm

Music Videos
There was a phase in my Guild Wars 'career' where I discovered video making. I love music and combine that with RPing, it's almost unavoidable for me to not associate some scenes in my head with some songs. I just had to let those ideas out.

Eon - Violence Fetish/Inside Out
Very first video I made. It simply features our guild Beautiful Oblivion[EON] (when were were still active ). We used to do RP/PvE/PvP - Team Arenas and GvG. Fun times.

Soundtrack -
Violence Fetish by Disturbed
Inside Out by Eve 6 (Where I got the phrase Beautiful Oblivion from)

Away From Me
Ah the beginning of my lagtastic series lol. Heard this song and thought it fits Mina's storyline at the time. So it's not really something that I expect to make sense lol.

Soundtrack
Away from Me by Evanescence

Blow Me Away
Anniversary vid I made for our guild. Kind of a sequel to Violence Fetish but a ton more laggy. Except for the last part which I recorded from a better computer. It was an RP event of our guild at the time. The necro with green hair and purple markings at the end is the "Enslaver" in my Original Character series version:
http://roguemina.deviantart.com/art/...F25403386&qo=9

Soundtrack - Blow Me Away by Breaking Benjamin

My Immortal
A video of Mina and Dani
Soundtrack - My Immortal by Evanescence

Here Without You
Another video that may not make sense if you don't know the storylines lol. It's about Mina and Ran actually.

Soundtrack - Here Without You by Three Doors Down

The Wayward Monk
Dani's tale. This one I am very proud of because you don't need to read the stories to understand the video. The lyrics and the storyboard makes sense I think?

Soundtrack - Second Chance by Shinedown

Tribute to the Bad Guys- Shiro and Arthas

Deviating from my usual RP-themed videos, I made this one featuring two of the big bad guys from Guild wars and World of Warcraft - Two of the games I love.

Soundtrack - A Welcome Burden by Disturbed

Aion Ascension
Well, random Aion video of the Ascension scenes for Asmodian and Elyos
Soundtrack - Requiem for A Dream

Slam Dunk!
lol, I made this video for fun. I really love the Slam Dunk anime series when I watched it on Hulu!

Soundtrack - It's My Life by Bon Jovi

Call Me
And back to my RP themed videos. Mina and Ran. They came to a point in their storyline when they are 'forced' to take two different paths.

Soundtrack - Call Me by Shinedown

Evil Angel
I just compiled a bunch of cutscenes with my Sorcerer in Aion (who's the equivalent of Mina in Aion actually). My cancelled my subscription and made this video as a final tribute.

I also made a bunch of raiding videos from Age of Conan and Warcraft but I don't feel like enumerating all of them. They are in my youtube channel though.

To Sera:

Thanks! Sure, feel free to send me the PM with the details of your request whenever you get the chance (Also the reference pictures of the character, which I think is still missing in the form).

Also, I assume you wanted Full Body? I realized my form was a little bit confusing so I just narrowed down the options to Portrait/Full Body.

Art type request: Could I get a sketch, along the lines of this:

Specifically, the piece above is more rough. Although I'm not exactly asking for more exhaustive detailing and rendering, I'd like a piece that feels 'finished.' Is that possible?

Price: How does 100k sound? If you decide to be more ambitious I'm sure I can accommodate you. (ie draw in color, or do another piece, etc)

Pose: You can choose what you'd like to do. Full body or not, torso or not. Feel free to add in any flairs you'd like (just avoid modern day weaponry). I'm interested in how you may interpret my character. Hopefully if you scale down the scope of the drawing the detail becomes commensurately better.

Character: Reyla Terest
Character type: Stoic. Clipped humor. Enjoys sleeping next to yaks near a fire. Reyla is the staff sergeant who will beat you to within an inch of your life. When it comes down to business, she will take the bullet for those under her wing. Not afraid to play dirty when fighting. Regards fighting not as a glorious endeavor, but a bitter struggle to the end. Enjoys taking care of her armor and weapons during idle times.
Descriptive ‘feel’ text: The northern winds whipped through the steppe, a shrill whistle that carried through the air. The cold winds were a familiar companion to Reyla, who had spent much of her life in the mountains. Her eyes are grey as the rock-strewn landscape before her, stoic and unforgiving as the harsh environment before her. She was only as one must be to thrive in the fierce, barren beauty of these steppes.
Character Type: Lawful Neutral
Age: Looks to be mid-30s to late 40s. Depends on how tired she is.
Eye Color: Grey/blue, a bit frosty.
Height: 5ft 8in.
Life Background: Ancestry seems to be half Elonian, half Tyrian. Was raised by her Tyrian grandfather in the border between the Northern Shiverpeaks and Ascalon. Reyla and her grandfather was a shepherd of yaks. Learned to fight by battling various fauna and Stone Summit raids as she grew up. Also trained by her grandfather, who had martial experience from before the Searing. Was orphaned before the Searing, but survived due to their yak herd. The Searing scattered the yak herd, and Reyla decided to take up arms and work as a mercenary for traveling merchant caravans.
Reyla's chose to become a mercenary because it was the most convenient way she could travel + make money. She aids the helpless along the way that need her, but does not actively take sides.
Gods closest to Reyla: Balthazar for strength and courage. Lyssa for cunning and deception.
Characteristics not in Reference Pictures:
Hair is starting to grey.
Muscular for a female. Not as dainty as the GW screenshots.
Slightly more powerful, thicker thighs that allow for bursts of speed underneath armor.
Left-handed. <-- ARMOR SHOULD BE FLIPPED HORIZONTALLY IF NECESSARY (ie Gladiators)
Long scar on the top of her left forearm, short scar on the inside of her upper left arm.
Neck is shorter and not as swan-like.
Breasts are a large B-cup, small C-cup.

Updated first post and put two types of list : Confirmed and Unconfirmed Commissions ^^"

Also updated my WIP Ranger drawing (50% actual size). Final art wouldn't look this rough and background color is just a placeholder >_>. I'd like to finish this one first (so I have two full body samples and well, I've always wanted to draw my ranger in hi drakescale 15k hehe) before I move to commissions. Looking to finish it this weekend.

Cool guy Is it only an impression or are you drawing males and females differently? males somehow seem to look more "rough" lol

lol Funny you noticed. That's the thing...my drawings never look the same so far >_<". But I like this new style actually than the smooth ones.

I think it also depends on the armor, since drakescale has a ton more intricacies to it and generally look rough. And well..this character also has a backstory and I tend to try to reflect personas in the drawings >_> (he's a bad guy lol) I also updated my form and removed the soft/hard option. I'll default them to hard unless otherwise requested. I think my general style fits the hard/cartoony edges at this point. Soft edges available upon request (also I need more practice on it with non commission drawings.).

Speaking of him. it's done! Took a GW background and added some smokey stuff in it. Might do different variations of the background when I'm bored. I did the fellblade and background real quick at like 2 AM this morning and was planning to change it today but my guildie said he likes it as it is. hehe.

Oh and Fellblade lol (his weapon of choice in RPs)

Original Character (this is my ranger):

Final Drawing (100% size)

Now on to commissions

It came out nicely. Maybe further in your practices, add a bit more focus on the background lighting so that your figures mix in with the area. Unless you were going for that look of having the ranger pop right off setting.

Thanks Charlie. Yeah I kinda put the background as an afterthought in that one (realized my mistake when I was already done lol..then read a tutorial that advises you to consider the background right before hand X_X). So for that ranger art I'm going for the pop right off effect

Oh and lineart (well my usual messy lineart) is done for Slayer's Playful Teacher Here's some prevs:

Trying a less anime-ish face this time I guess. (if Slayer's okay with that =P). So that's the reason why I cant set a fix price for my commissions..my drawings have a mind of their own. It really depends on the character I am drawing..they kinda set the mood for me X_x"
